2015 is Flying Past!

I knew 2015 was going to be my year but its going way too fast! I can’t believe we are already in February and before I know it I’ll be back at uni for my last year (let’s hope it stays fast!)

I just thought I’d take a minute to spend sometime writing for myself, sorry to all those who were regular readers but keeping my own blog afloat while I look after others was harder than I thought!

Paella Fest!

There is nothing more in life that I appreciate than good food and wine. There is just something special about spending time with family and friends and catching up over a delicious meal and something to drink; it’s just in my nature!

A few weeks ago we visited Brandy Creek Winery in Drouin to enjoy a Sunday afternoon with Spanish entertainment, plenty of food and wine. It is such a beautiful area and we could not have picked a better day to go with the weather!

Oh How I Would Love To Study Abroad

I can’t think of anything greater than having the opportunity to study abroad. Being able to soak up not only a new culture but also finishing a degree seems more like a dream than something you can potentially do.

Although it may be a little out of the comfort zone, studying abroad has a lot of benefits to students including learning more about yourself as a person and the world in which we all live; and boy do we do it all differently!

There are so many options while studying abroad and if it wasn’t for my own commitments here in Aus it would be something I would highly consider.

So you think your going to take the leap and travel abroad? Have a look at the tips below:

Packing for a Great European Trip

The excitement of packing for a holiday only a few days before your big trip is one of the best feelings before you leave. For some people though packing can be a daunting task leaving them anxious and stressed; which is not what we aim for on holiday!

Having a plan in place can make a potentially stressful situation change to one of enthusiasm. How you go about packing is the key to getting your holiday spirit going before your getaway has even begun.

There is nothing worse than getting to the departure lounge to find you have left essentials at home so having an idea of what you need before you start packing is always a great idea.

For those of you travelling to Europe or thinking about travelling to Europe keep the area and time in mind; think lots of layers in winter and light flowy clothes for those summer getaways.

In a Nutshell

To do list

So since my busy schedule has not only managed to make me miss out on what I love (aka travelling and writing) I decided I need to take a moment to reflect the things that I appreciate are going on for me right now.

Unfortunately lately when anyone has asked me what I have been doing and how I am my response is something along the lines of work and stress. What I am hoping is that I can change this around!

Meredith O’Connor’s Hit Single “Just The Thing”

Meredith at Premier

Meredith O’Connor, a New York singer, has continued to bring her anti-bullying campaign to light with her new single “Just The Thing”. Meredith has had a strong message to all her fans and the world about anti-bullying since her debut single “Celebrity” and continues to use her own fame for the benefit of others.

“Just The Thing” was officially released on iTunes on April 22 this year with 75 per cent of all proceeds donated to the Carol Galvin Foundation that helps raise funds for women in need of cancer treatment.

The song blends country, rock and pop music together for Meredith’s unique sound. “Just The Thing” depicts typical high school life with the ‘in crowd’ and outsiders but Meredith demonstrates how we should all be accepted for who we are as everyone’s quirky qualities makes life interesting.

I was lucky enough to be in contact with Meredith about the new single and her inspiration.

“I was inspired to write Just The Thing about having someone in your life who not only understands you, but loves you for your differences,” she said.

The video clip for “Just The Thing” was shot in Clarkstown High School North in New York and included participation of actual students, teachers and even the Principal. The video co-stars Luke Bilyk who plays Drew on Nickelodeon’s DeGrassi show.

“It was so much fun to shoot! The intention was to convey a dream sequence that the two main characters had throughout the video, and the “in crowd” had crazy makeup and effects to show that what is strange to some might be normal to others, but it doesn’t matter, because someone out there will love you for you.”
